Monster Train 2 (PS5)

Monster Train 2 is by far the most underappreciated game in the November lineup. If you enjoy games like Slay the Spire, Balatro, and other card strategy games, then you most likely will love this one, too. Here, you form alliances of angels and demons competing on trains and battle through Heaven, Hell, and the Abyss to defeat the Titans. You can use different primary and secondary clans, which give a variety of decks and combinations, as well as recruit and upgrade units, cast spells, and equip gear.
The critical reception is very strong for this game, with a Metacritic score of 87 and some highly positive player feedback, including reviews on such platforms like Steam. It offers excellent build variety, strategic depth, floor management, card synergies, art, and soundtrack, which allow for shorter sessions, though are never boring even during longer play sessions. If you love the deckbuilding roguelite genre, then this would be an excellent opportunity to try it out.
Dead Island 2 (PS5/PS4)

If you’re a fan of zombie games, co-op action, or looter shooters, then here’s a nice little callback from 2023 with the sequel to the infamous Dead Island game. If you missed it the first time, then here’s your chance to explore all the iconic landmarks, take on quests, meet other survivors, and engage in brutal melee combat for loot and skills. Note that this sequel was well-received for its combat and setting after a long development history when it was initially released, and the campaign is pretty long, taking up about 25-40 hours of gameplay.
Of course, you can play solo, but the game also supports a 3-player co-op, which is far more exciting, although in that case, all three players must own Dead Island 2 either via purchase or PS Plus subscription. Anyway, expect a healthy mix of story missions and free exploration, which is far more rewarding than in most similar games of this genre.
Tomb Raider IV–VI Remastered (PS5/PS4)

Tomb Raider IV–VI Remastered, also known as The Darkness Trilogy, is a remastered collection of three classic Lara Croft games, including Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, Tomb Raider: Chronicles, and Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness. Although these are older titles, you can toggle between original polygonal graphics and updated visuals, which make the original dated design elements far more acceptable.
If you love classic 3D adventure games, puzzles, and exploration, then this would be a great package for all retro enthusiasts, or anyone wanting classic tomb raiding before the new entries and remakes start coming out. Altogether, these three entries will grant you over 50 hours of gameplay, just be sure to start with The Last Revelation for the correct timeline.
