Footage supposedly showing a remake of the original Persona has surfaced online, offering a possible first look at a modern reimagining of Atlus’ RPG.
The video began circulating through a post on Reddit’s GamingLeaksAndRumours community, where it was shared under the title Persona: Be Your True Mind remake gameplay leak.
Running for just under two minutes, the footage appears to feature updated character designs, third-person exploration and turn-based battles. However, neither Atlus nor Sega has confirmed that the video is genuine or announced a Persona 1 remake.

What does the alleged Persona 1 remake footage show?
The video appears to bring the original game closer to the presentation of recent Persona releases, with 3D environments, stylised combat menus and new character artwork. It also includes a story sequence, although some elements look unfinished.
As IGN reports, viewers have highlighted an apparent similarity between Eriko’s summoning animation and Yukiko’s animation in Persona 4 Revival. That has prompted suggestions that the footage could contain shared development assets.
Another talking point is the apparent appearance of Persona 2 protagonist Tatsuya Suou. His presence has led to theories that the model is a placeholder, or that the video could be an internal pitch exploring remakes of both early Persona games.
Neither explanation has been verified. Tatsuya’s appearance alone does not establish that a Persona 2 remake is also in development.
Is the Persona 1 remake leak genuine?
The footage’s production quality has attracted attention, with DualShockers also examining the alleged leak. However, convincing artwork, music and animations are not enough to establish where the video came from.
Even if it is authentic, there is no confirmed recording date or explanation of its purpose. It could represent an early development build, a proof of concept or an internal presentation, rather than a game approaching announcement.
IGN says it has contacted Sega for comment.
Atlus has expressed interest in revisiting the early games
A return to the original Persona would fit with comments from series producer Kazuhisa Wada.
Asked earlier this year about potential Persona 1 and 2 remakes, Wada stopped short of confirming development but said: “I think it’s something we should definitely do. I think we have to do it.”
However, at least for now, Persona: Be Your True Mind remains an unverified title attached to the alleged leak. A Persona 1 remake has no officially announced release date or platforms.
